Wildlife of the Tibetan Steppe

by George B Schaller

Wildlife of the Tibetan Steppe
£18.00 Add to basket

The vast, remote Tibetan steppe known as the Chang Tang is home to many large mammals including gazelle, argali sheep, wild yak, wolves and snow leopards. The author and his local co-workers surveyed the flora and fauna, and their research provides the first detailed look at the ecology of one of the world's least known ecosystems.

The main focus of the book is on the ungulates, especially the Tibetan antelope, and much information on their behaviour, distribution and ecology is published for the first time.
