Dragonflies: Status Survey and Conservation Action Plan
Some 5,000 species have been described and there are undoubtedly many more awaiting discovery and description. These beautiful creatures are good indicators of water quality and are also predators of mosquitoes. Most species live in the tropics particularly in the rainforests and destruction of habitat poses a direct threat to their survival. This plan looks at the problems facing these creatures and proposes some solutions for their survival and conservation.
